An itch that needs to be scratched
Sweet Itch (also known as Summer Itch or Queensland Itch) is a medical condition in horses caused by an allergic response to the bites of Culicoides midges. The saliva of these tiny mites causes a severe allergic reaction in horses – leading to an intense and very uncomfortable itch. The allergic reaction develops at the site where the insects feed and the majority of affected horses show skin lesions on the mane, tail and dorsal midline – with lesions around the ears and head also common.

These lesions are intensely itchy which results in rubbing and self-harm. The horse will usually rub itself on something causing broken hairs, broken and sometimes bleeding skin, bald patches and secondary infection.

The Natural Way
There is a lot that can be done to help prevent Sweet Itch and lessen the discomfort for your horse. Flysheets that prevent flies and midges settling on your horse’s skin can be used. In addition, fly masks can be worn as well as thin screens placed over stable doors and windows to exclude biting insects. It is a good idea to stable your horse at the times of the day when the midges are most prevalent. Various supplements may also be helpful, including fatty acid supplementation and linseed oil, however your equine vet should first approve these supplements before they are given to your horse.

What is EQuine Allergy Itch Ease?
Allergy Itch Ease is a 100% safe and natural homeopathic remedy that uses ingredients known for their ability to soothe and calm agitated and itchy skin, as well as support the health and integrity of all cells and layers of the skin. The ingredients are homeopathic, thus addressing acute skin problems, such as sweet itch patches, eczema, ‘mottled’ skin and itchiness. Taken internally, Allergy Itch Ease helps to maintain sensory balance of the skin, as well as the supply of oxygen at a cellular level.

Presented in pillules, EQuine Allergy Itch Ease is administered by sprinkling directly into the mouth or offered on the hand – making dosing easy and simple!

How has EQuine Allergy Itch Ease helped others?
“My horse was so itchy during the summer – she had terrible lesions on her tail and would rub against the stable posts all day long. I could see her skin getting raw and scaly. It was so painful to watch. Eventually I searched on the web and found this product – she is doing so much better, thank you”
- Emily

“This is so easy to use, no more rubbing lotions and potions onto my horses. I run a stable and so this is a quick and easy way to see to all the horses… I just dose all of them each day as a preventative, just marvelous!”

What are the Ingredients?
Allergy Itch Ease contains the following homeopathic ingredients in therapeutic dosages and equal parts:
  • Arum triph (6C) – This homeopathic remedy has been used for centuries to support the skin and address itchiness, burning sensation on the skin and redness. This remedy suits those animals that tend to worsen in the wind and have skin issues with the change of seasons.
  • Viola tri (6C) – known for its ability to help common afflictions of the skin, this remedy is particularly beneficial when addressing common itchiness that pops up over different parts of the body. In addition, it also helps stimulate general routine detoxification.
  • Comocladia (6C) - Used in homeopathy to address redness of the skin, this remedy also helps calm commonly inflamed or irritated tissue.
  • Chamomilla (12C) – used as a soothing remedy for centuries, this well-known remedy in homeopathic potency suits those animals that tend to scratch during the day but more frequently at night.
  • Cina (6C) – A homeopathic ingredient used to support the skin from the inside out on a cellular level. It is also frequently recommended for animals that tend to twitch and jump in an agitated fashion – as so often happens when your pet’s skin is itchy and irritated.
  • Sucrose (inactive ingredient).

EQuine Allergy Itch Ease contains no gluten, artificial flavours, colours or preservatives. All individual ingredients are well-researched and are natural, safe and effective.
