What is Diarrhoea?
When your pet has diarrhoea, the number of stools passed may or may not be increased but each stool will be much looser and more watery than normal. Diarrhoea in pets can be related to something they have eaten, a viral infection, bacterial infection, worms, a foreign object they have swallowed and even diseases affecting other organs such as the liver or kidneys. It can even be triggered by a change in diet especially if your pet has an intolerance to one of the ingredients in the diet. It can be very serious in young puppies, kittens and in elderly pets as they can dehydrate extremely quickly. If your pet has diarrhoea, make sure they have plenty of fresh water available at all times. If you have a very young or very old pet that is affected, or if you are at all concerned in any other way, please do not hesitate to contact your veterinarian.

What are the Ingredients?
Pet Alive RuniPoo Relief contains the following herbal and homeopathic ingredients in therapeutic dosage:

Plantago Major (Plantain) is widely distributed throughout Asia and Europe. Plantain is a well known herbal remedy traditionally used to maintain the health of the digestive system and mucous membranes. Alchemilla Vulgaris (Lady’s Mantle). This herb is known amongst herbalists as an astringent herb (decreases secretions) and has been used since the Middle Ages for maintaining healthy firm stools and bowel functioning. Alchemilla also contains tannins, which form a soothing protective layer on the lining of the digestive tract.

Lady’s Mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris) has been used for many years to support healthy firm stools and maintain bowel functioning. Alchemilla also contains tannins, which support the natural production of secretions that form a soothing layer on the lining of the digestive tract. (Jonadet M, Meunier MT, Villie F, Bastide JP, Lamaison JL. “Flavonoids extracted Alchemilla vulgaris”. J Pharmacol. 1986;17:21–7).

Podophyllum (6C) is a homeopathic remedy for profuse, explosive, watery diarrhea that is usually preceded by abdominal rumbles and gurgles.

Sulphur (6C), used homeopathically, is particularly useful for upset stomachs associated with urgent, pressing bowel movements.

Arsen alb. (6c) is another well known homeopathic remedy that is particularly effective in treating diarrhea accompanied by nervousness and restlessness, making it the perfect remedy for highly strung pets.

PetAlive RunniPoo Relief contains no gluten, artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.

 
 
How do I use PetAlive RuniPoo Relief?
RuniPoo Relief comes in convenient liquid form and the concentrated drops are easily disguised in your pet's food or a favorite treat.

Directions: Mix the drops in a favorite treat or a little water three to four times daily until symptoms subside.

Dosage:
Cats and small dogs: 2 - 3 drops.
Medium dogs: 5 drops. Large dogs: 8 - 10 drops

How long until I see results?

    Cathy's Tips:

  • Diarrhoea is usually self-limiting and will often clear up quicker if food is withheld for 24 hours. It is however not advisable to withhold food from very young pets or very ill pets.
  • Feed your pet a bland, easily digestible diet during the course of the diarrhoea and continue with this diet for at least 48 hours after the diarrhoea is resolved. Chicken and rice is a good bet. The cells that line the digestive system will be inflamed and functioning less effectively during, and straight after a case of the runs. By feeding a bland diet, less strain is placed on these damaged cells and digestion will be more effective. The diarrhoea might even be aggravated if a rich, fatty diet is fed!!
  • Do not suddenly change your pet’s diet as this will cause an upset in the microflora that normally lives in the digestive system of your dog
  • Bloody diarrhoea with or without vomiting is always a reason to see the vet
  • Deworm your pet regularly, see Parasite Dr. for guidelines
  • Clean up after your pet, do not leave your dog’s poop for other people to step in. It poses a health risk and is a sign of an irresponsible pet owner. PICK UP AFTER PUP!!
